What does the job look like?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Service Advisor – Triage to join our Laverton North Service Centre. If you are a qualified Diesel Mechanic ready to step off the tools, this is your chance to leverage your expertise and become a subject matter expert at the forefront of our national support team. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our drivers across the country by diagnosing, triaging, and resolving mechanical issues swiftly and efficiently – all by phone. Utilise your in-depth technical knowledge, advanced vehicle telematics, and fleet management software to ensure the safety of our people, fleet integrity, and timely vehicle repair responses.
Key areas:
- Triage breakdowns nationally, using your subject matter expertise to diagnose root causes, determine necessary repairs, and prioritise responses.
- Monitor vehicle telematics to assist in timely and accurate vehicle repairs.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with drivers, Linfox Service Centres, and vendors to drive corrective repair actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with nationwide Linfox Service Centres and vendors.

You can demonstrate:
- Mechanical trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is essential.
- In-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise in heavy vehicle systems, mechanics, and electronics.
- Familiarity with heavy vehicle telematics systems is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word); experience with SAP is highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster (fortnightly): 5am–1pm and 10am–8pm.
- Shift loading paid - 30% when on mornings and 18% for afternoons
