TRS Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced and trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy civil and industrial workshop. This position is best suited to a self-motivated tradesperson capable of working independently across a varied fleet of heavy vehicles and specialised equipment.
Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a mixed fleet of civil plant and heavy vehicles. Work will be carried out both in the workshop and onsite, covering scheduled servicing, fault finding, and breakdown support.
Key Duties
- Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy vehicles and civil plant
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Work on specialised equipment, including:
- Vacuum trucks (NDD / hydro-excavation)
- High-pressure jetting units
- Pumps and associated systems
- Complete preventative maintenance and compliance servicing
- Respond to breakdowns and perform urgent repairs as required
- Accurately record maintenance and service activities
- Identify potential issues and implement corrective actions
- Communicate with internal teams to ensure equipment reliability
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Heavy Vehicle Mechanic role
- Experience working on trucks, civil machinery, and mobile plant
- Solid understanding of vacuum systems, jetting equipment, and pumps (essential)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Reliable and safety-focused work ethic
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification
- Current driver's licence (HR preferred)
- White Card
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
